I've been having trouble falling to sleep lately because my mind never wants to turn off. It can be pretty annoying, but luckily it's not all that bad because I tend to get my best ideas in those kinds of moments.
Last night was no exception, and my brain was bursting with Bible verses & song ideas that I thought would be awesome on some little wall plaques. I am considering doing a series of sculptures like these (maybe create a new one every week or two), so I decided to start with this one because it was inspiring me the most this morning.
As the deer pants for water so my soul longs for you, Lord. It's from Psalm 42:1 and you might also recognize it from an old hymn "As the deer panteth for the water so my soul longeth after Thee. You alone are my hearts desire and I long to worship Thee.." It's been a long time since we sang this song at church, but it definitely brings back memories!
I thought it would be a fun verse/song for this project because not only would it allow me to showcase the awesome words, but I could include a little sculpted deer to really tie the piece together.
I hope your soul longs for Jesus today and that you seek Him out - just like a deer seeks for water when it is thirsty.
