I'm making a cake topper for my sister (who is getting married in just a few weeks) and so I thought it would be fun to show you a picture of how my sculptures start out. She decided to go with a skeleton themed topper despite my other great ideas of pie-people or space-cats! hehehe.
It's not glamorous or high-tech process, just a full-sized sketch of the basic design idea, some galvanized wire for the structure of the piece, and some thinner wire & Apoxie Sculpt to keep the connections secure. After the Apoxie Sculpt hardens I can start adding clay!
